Anna’s Places: For ABAC, the CAMP program was a place in which I found a wonderful support system through the director, the mentors that each student is assigned, and the peers themselves as many of them have similar experiences since they come from migrant parent households and many are first-gens as well. At ABAC, there was also the Latina Cultura Club which allows students to socialize and learn more about Latin Culture. At VSU, I was not a part of any club but the education program is very inclusive and allows for opportunities to bond with your peers. Additionally, the education program offers scholarships on occasion as well. |
High School Places: I enjoyed doing cross country, track and field, drama club, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes
First-generation student?: yes
